Background: The purpose of the site was to document the activities of the nonprofit 2wice Arts Foundation and to create a platform for exploring dance, performance, photography and design.
Design core: Our intention was to design the site as a kind of clean white gallery for the featured projects, which span 30 years of publishing.
Challenges: Prioritizing what to show from a vast archive. We spent a lot of time on getting a mix of sources that reflected the spirit of the projects and feeling comprehensive, while only showing the tip of the iceberg.
Divergent paths: If I were to design this site again, I would integrate more of the essays we commissioned. That way, people could appreciate that we developed really strong writing in addition to the strength of the imagery and design.
